Point-guard Chelsey Gipson wins Wooden Award
Senior Pali point-guard Chelsey Gipson has won the 2017 John R. Wooden High School Player of the Year award for basketball. Gipson won the award in the CIF Los Angeles City Section division, the highest division in the city.
“It’s an honor and a blessing to win something big like this. I wouldn’t be here without my teammates, and I’m going to continue my journey at LMU,” Gipson said.
She will go on with her basketball career at the Division 1 level next year on a full athletic scholarship at Loyola Marymount University.
