February marked the end of the first step of the Palisades Charter High School application process for prospective students. Those hoping to attend Pali High in the 2019-2020 school year were required to submit their applications between October and February.

The school is beginning to sort applications by order of preference, starting with Palisades residents, then siblings of current Pali students, current students at Paul Revere and ending with students with family members working at Pali High, Director of Admissions and Attendance Tami Christopher said.

Families will be notified of acceptances once the applications have been sorted. Those accepted will receive an email including instructions on how to complete the online registration process by March 18. The acceptance email also provides information about the ninth-grade placement tests, which will take place on Saturday, May 18 at PCHS. The email asks that students notify the school immediately should they choose not to attend Pali.

Applicants not initially accepted participated in the admissions lottery on Wednesday, March 13, and accepted students were notified the next day. According to Christopher, any student not selected in the lottery “will be placed randomly on a waitlist, and then [the school] will start calling people.”

The incoming freshman class typically includes approximately 750 students, school records show.
